Kate's Self Exploration

Early Morning Awakening

Who Decides in Life?

When we are lost and troubled in this world, God says to fret not. When we feel that the unjust has crossed our path - it is not for us to worry.

In the end there is one judge. When we die God will have his say. Christians cannot escape God’s Will. We can bury and run but in the end – God will have his say.

It is not for us to point fingers and accuse. It is not for the judges in the court system, lawyers, politicians, our friends, nor our teachers. God makes all decisions.

Everyday we wake up and begin a new. Everyday we wake up and make choices throughout the day. As you lie down in bed and reflect – is God pleased? We always know this answer . . .

If you are hiding and reasoning away your guilty conscious – your world will begin to crumble. Your soul will begin to ache. We are all, as Christians, given the ability to hear Truth and hear God. God desires greatly for us as Christians to know his will and His ways.

God will get your attention. The longer you postpone listening to His voice the louder He will become. We will be brought to our knees and have the choice – to bend or continue to play outside and against what it means to be a Christian.

We all make mistakes. We are sinners. God desires for us to come home and hear His wishes for our life. He wants us in His will! Why do we choose not to listen to God? Why do we let our own judgment and foresight get in our way? We cannot see.

What happens when you know God is not pleased? What happens when you turn away from truth and run farther? For some – we do not know this answer. We do know that to run away from truth will cause more pain and for God to be deeply saddened. God desires the best for us. Why not listen? Do not let your own eyes blind you from God’s truth.

It is all about God. We can do all things great and small through God. He is there – open and let the words of God fill your soul.

Kate's Nuggets of Garden Wisdom Part IV

Bad little worm caught munching on my delicate tomato plant!  These worms must be removed immediately.  I have been hunting this worm all week.  These worms are very difficult to spot because they are the color of the tomato plant.  How do you know if your plants are being attacked?  You will notice leaves missing off your tomato plant.  Oh and they will multiply!  Beware . . .

P.S. This worm was not harmed during the photography session . . . just given his freedom on the other side of the fence.

"Through the Flowers I Peek" photo coming soon.

Kate's Nuggets of Garden Wisdom Part III

Time to stake your tomato plants!  This helps to prevent them from growing all over your other plants and combining into a big mess.    I prefer these green hardy stakes.  Just use a little muscle and push them deep into the ground.

Next you need to tie and brace your tomato plants to the stake.  In the past I've used string and twisties (like the kind from your bread bag).  Last year I finally found the best product to tie up my tomato plants - pantyhose.  I usually use a pair that I ripped during the winter.  I cut them into strips with scissors.  I prefer pantyhose because it is stretchy and it allows the plant to grow without cutting into the stems during their summer growth spurts.

Suckers.  Yes that's right - suckers.  These little water draining, nutrient stealing twigs need to be picked off your tomato plant.  How do you know a sucker from a good vine?  Well, they grow  in-between two good stems.  Pick the little sucker off and toss it out of the garden.  A sucker is pictured above.

Grow squash grow!  I hope you found these tips helpful.  How is your garden growing?
